UCO Engineering completes the rehabilitation of King Hamad Highway.

The manager of Roads Projects and Maintenance Department at the Ministry of Works, Municipal Affairs and Urban Planning, Engineer Sayyid Badr Alawi said that the Ministry has successfully completed periodic maintenance project to rehabilitate King Hamad Highway from Qurain intersection to Durrat Al Bahrain with a length of 17 km in both directions, according to the established timetable.

He added that the Ministry carried out the works of paving the road with a new layer of asphalt with new materials rich in asphalt to resist the natural conditions surrounding the road after the road surface equilibrium was modified by asphalt scraping or by adding more layers. In addition to that the ground traffic signs were reinstalled.

The Director of Roads Projects and Maintenance Management pointed out that this project will preserve the resilience of the road and will not suffer from further deterioration.

The rehabilitation project total cost totalled to 773 thousand dinars which the Ministry began implementing during the month of November 2018, and was awarded by the Tender and Bidding Council to the gentlemen / UCO Engineering Company.
